Meet the Artist

I am pretty much self-taught. I grew up in what is now Lakewood, Colorado, a western suburb of Denver. My fascination with art began when I was on a school field trip to the Denver Art Museum. There I saw a painting by the French Painter, William Bouguereau (1825-1905), entitled Childhood Idyll. I was hooked. I had to learn how make pictures like that.

That was a long time ago, and I have been working on being able to paint like that ever since. Pastels have become my favorite medium, although I use a variety of media. I have shown in several local art shows and have won first prizes, grand championships, and best of show. I am seeking to expand my horizons as well as improving my technique.
